The Story of the 6th Battalion the Durham Light Infantry

FNH Audio presents this unabridged reading of the heroic story of a territorial battalion mobilised and sent overseas into the bloodiest conflict the world has ever known. They fought with distinction at the Somme and Arras through some of the most terrible and wasteful of battles. In one three month period this battalion alone lost 1,200 men and sixty officers. That it survived until the end of the war was nothing short of a miracle.

This history was written by the battalions Adjutant in 1919. A winner of the Military Cross for his actions in the combat, he relates in this work the fighting spirit of the battalion with a truthfulness that only comes with having been there.

FNH Audio presents an unabridged reading of Henry Kuttner's dark tale The Secret of Kralitz.

The House of Kralitz has thrived for hundreds of years while hiding a dark secret in the family vaults. A curse was laid upon the Kralitz line, and today the present head of the household will learn its true horror.

This short story is in the classic gothic style of H.P. Lovecraft, and makes reference to some elements of Lovecraft's famed Cthulhu Mythos. The story was first published in the October 1936 edition of Weird Tales.

A History of the Peninsular War Volume 2, Jan-Sept 1809

FNH Audio presents a slightly abridged performance of this second volume of Charles Oman's military history classic.

In this second volume, a detailed examination is made of the months January to September of 1809. The Talavera campaign is examined from both sides using reference materials from British, French, Spanish, and Portuguese sources.

This book covers the entire Talavera campaign, from its inception right through to the near starved retreat of the victors from the field.

This history, written many years after Napier's, draws its information from more firsthand accounts and corrects some of more glaring mistakes and biases of Napier. Although this audiobook is abridged, the only text removed is that in French, namely Appendix 9 and a number of footnotes scattered throughout the book. All English text from the appendices and footnotes is present. Volume 1 of this set is available under the title A History of the Peninsular War 1807-1809.
